Venerable Professor Samdhong Rinpoche was born in Jol, Eastern Tibet. At the age of 5, he was recognised as the reincarnation of the 4th Samdhong Rinpoche and enthroned in Gaden Dechenling Monastery at Jol. In the aftermath of the armed repression in Tibet, he escaped to India. From 1971-1988, he was the Principal of Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS, Varanasi), also serving as the institute’s director post 1988 till 2001. After his special appointment by His Holiness as one of the members of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, he was also elected as its Speaker. In 2001, he became the first democratically elected Kalon Tripa (Prime Minister), with 85% majority. He was re-elected in 2006.

Venerable Professor Geshe Ngwang Samten is currently serves as the Vice-Chancellor of the Central University for Tibetan Studies, Sarnath, Varanasi. He moved to India after the Chinese Occupation of Tibet, in 1959. His formative years were spent at the Central School for Tibetans in Chandgiri, Orissa. He went on to earn the title of ‘Shastri’ and “Acharya’ at the Central University for Tibetan Studies at Sarnath. His monastic education took place at the Gaden Shartse Mundgod, in Karnataka. He received the Geshe Dhorampa and the Geshe Lharampa, a degree equivalent to a Ph.D in the modern education system. Sultanpuri is a community situated in the north-west district of Delhi. This community is largely affected by poverty, unemployment, and substance abuse, resulting in alcohol and drug-related crimes. The youth are at the center of this crisis, which has led to an increase in school dropouts, thefts, and other petty crimes. These activities have further put young children at risk, as they are often exposed to them at a young age. AyurGyan Nyas, in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of NCT Delhi, has set up a unique community education project in which 50 children from various age groups are enrolled. These classes are held at "Suryoday Kendra” and are led by a trained community educator. Additionally, they have helped to foster healthy interactions with parents and other stakeholders as well as the development of positive learning environment for children.

The non-profit, non-governmental Association for Social Health in India (ASHI) was founded in 1928 with the goal of empowering women, children, and youth who belong to the nation's less fortunate demographic. The "Life Skills Enrichment" Program is being implemented by AyurGyan Nyas in association with ASHI at four non-formal education centers situated in impoverished neighborhoods close to ITO, New Delhi. The community-based non-formal education centers act as a link and source of after-school assistance for both school-age children and non-school-age children. AGN is working with 214 ASHI beneficiaries to teach essential life skills such as discernment, self-awareness, self-management, and social awareness. These skills will enable the beneficiaries to become self-reliant, resilient, and make wise choices in a world that is constantly changing.

Over the years I have realised that there is a gap in the education system. Many schools emphasis on developing IQ, but they don’t apply much focus on EQ and AQ. They provide both Inpatient and Outpatient treatment services for substance use disorders among adults in India and are the only organization in the country providing specialized drug treatment services for young adolescents and for juveniles in conflict with law.

Ayurgyan Nyas marked a significant milestone by expanding its reach into professional spaces with a successful 2-day workshop on Universal Ethics Education UEE for nursing professionals at Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College, Meerut. Following the success of the workshop, AGN conducted a UEE orientation session for a new batch of nursing students
AGN collaborated with Jyoti Sroat School in Shillong, an inclusive institution under the Bethany Society. This partnership marked a significant step in promoting inclusive education by implementing the UEE curriculum from pre-primary to Grade 8. A three-day workshop conducted by the AGN team equipped teachers with strategies to enhance students' social, emotional, and ethical development.
AGN established new collaborations with SPYM, NANAK, and Jamghat, expanding our outreach to diverse communities. As part of this initiative, conducted a full-day training workshop for the staff of these organizations, equipping them with the tools to implement the UEE curriculum effectively.
Expansion of UEE to an additional CCI of SBT AGN has expanded its reach to another Child Care Institution (CCI) under SBT, enrolling 40 children in UEE classes at the DMRC Children’s Home for Boys.

Jamghat Pathshala, founded by journalist Richa Anirudh in 2021, provides free education to underprivileged children in Noida. What began with just eight students studying under a tree has grown to over 140 children attending daily classes. The school, held outdoors on a pavement in Sector 137, Noida offers lessons in basic subjects like English, Hindi, and Mathematics, and also teaches life skills such as communication, health, and hygiene. Richa, along with volunteers and teachers, ensures the children have the necessary stationery and resources. The Pathshala also works on re-enrolling children in formal schools, particularly those who dropped out during the COVID-19 pandemic. With strong community support and dedicated efforts, Jamghat Pathshala is helping these children get back on track for a brighter future .
