Ek Anokhi Pathshala

In 2021, AyurGyan Nyas extended its reach to children from disadvantaged and vulnerable communities in Delhi, NCR. The Universal Ethics Education Programme was introduced with the aim of promoting the socioemotional and ethical development of children impacted by poverty, trauma, and inequalities. “Ek Anokhi Pathshala” is a specially designed intervention program for children aged 6 to 14 that aims to develop their social, emotional, and ethical competencies.

Basic aspects of social emotional development may be lacking in children and young adults from socioeconomically disadvantaged and multi-challenged backgrounds. This intervention program aims to benefit children and adolescents residing in vulnerable marginalized communities, as well as those in need of care and protection. A mental health crisis has resulted from an increase in social and emotional challenges in the 21st century. Therefore, it is significant to build a nurturing environment for vulnerable children and provide them with opportunities to acquire the essential skills needed to strive in an ever-changing and challenging world.

The development of social, emotional, and ethical competencies could potentially serve as significant protective factors for the beneficiaries of this programme. Their engagement with the UEE curriculum has yielded positive outcomes with respect to prosocial behavior, motivation, collaboration, and self-management.

Seeds of Compassion: UEE in Kaza

In 2021, AGN launched the Universal Ethics Education (UEE) program in Kaza. Building on the success of the pilot project, the program was expanded to Kinnaur in the Spiti Valley in 2023. This initiative was undertaken in collaboration with the Tong-Len Trust and formalized under an MOU with the Himachal Pradesh Government. Currently, the UEE curriculum is being implemented in 65 government schools and 5 private schools, reaching over 1,000 students.

The program supports students from pre-primary to Class 8 in developing social, emotional, and ethical skills through engaging and enriching activities. AGN has conducted multiple assessments to track students’ progress, which have shown notable improvements in their understanding of socio-emotional skills and ethical knowledge.

To empower educators, AGN has organized numerous training workshops, both online and in-person. These sessions equip teachers with practical tools to foster ethical behavior and critical thinking among students.

Despite the challenges of operating in remote areas, AGN has maintained consistent engagement with schools through regular monitoring visits and active virtual communication. These efforts address challenges, gather feedback, and provide ongoing support to teachers and administrators.

The program’s success is reflected in the positive transformation seen in students, who are now applying UEE principles in their daily lives. AGN remains committed to overcoming geographical barriers to deliver ethical education in these remote regions, fostering a more compassionate and mindful generation.

Schools

Our journey began with a primary focus on schools, where we have made a meaningful impact by collaborating with 100+ government and private schools.

Our UEE (Universal Ethics Education) curriculum align with the UGC’s commitment to holistic education and the NEP 2020’s emphasis on well-rounded learning experiences.

The implementation of the UEE curriculum in schools encompasses several key elements:

TEACHERS TRAININGS

We empower educators with specialized training to effectively deliver the UEE curriculum, ensuring that students receive the best possible educational experience.

Monitoring & Feedback:

We maintain a robust system for monitoring and providing feedback to schools, helping them continually improve their implementation of the UEE curriculum.

UEE WORKBOOKS (PRE-PRIMARY TO GRADE 8)

Our comprehensive UEE workbooks cater to students from pre-primary to Grade 8, offering a structured and progressive learning journey that fosters holistic development.

Baseline & Endline Assessments:

We determine the progress and growth of students, enabling us to tailor our support to their specific needs and measure the effectiveness of the UEE curriculum.

Higher Education

Since 2023, we have forged partnerships with prestigious higher education institutions, including colleges and universities, as they recognize the significance of incorporating UEE (Universal Ethics Education) and related courses into their academic offerings.

Our UEE curriculum align with the UGC's commitment to holistic education and the NEP 2020's emphasis on well-rounded learning experiences.

We are pleased to have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bundelkhand University, through which we will be introducing our UEE curriculum as a short-term course. This initiative marks a significant step towards expanding the reach of our educational programs.

We have also provided specialized training to educators at Maitreyi College (University of Delhi), enhancing their teaching methodologies to better support the delivery of their Value-Added Courses.

In line with our mission to promote social, emotional and ethical education amongst all individuals, Ayurgyan Nyas marked a significant milestone by expanding reach into professional spaces with a successful 2-day workshop on Universal Ethics Education UEE for nursing professionals at Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College, Meerut, on May 10th & 11th, 2024. The workshop was conducted simultaneously for the final semester nursing students and the faculty. As it was designed specifically for the nursing profession, the participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the essential concepts like, care, compassion, emotion management and mindfulness etc
