Professor Venerable Samdhong Rinpoche, was born on 5 Nov 1939 in Jol, Eastern Tibet. At the age of five, he was recognized as the reincarnation of the 4th Samdhong Rinpoche and enthroned in Gaden Dechenling Monastery at Jol. In the aftermath of the armed repression of the peaceful uprising in Tibet, he escaped to India. At that time he was just 20. From 1971 to 1988 he was the Principal of Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS, Varanasi). From 1988 to 2001 he worked as the Director of the same institute. He was specially appointed by His Holiness as one of the members of Tibetan Parliament –in-Exile. The house in turn, unanimously elected him as its Speaker. In 2001, he became the first democratically elected Kalon Tripa (Prime Minister), with an overwhelming majority support of nearly 85% of the total votes cast. In 2006, he was reelected for the second time.
Yogesh Mohanji Gupta was born on 6th January, 1951. He is the Founder and Chairman of IIMT Group of Colleges, Meerut and Gr. NOIDA. A visionary and a true philanthropist at heart, he is running 18 colleges with more than 20,000 students and 3,000 staff members. He is a trailblazing academician with more than 3 decades of experience, with a flair for the all round development of under privileged people. He has been bestowed with many awards like the Meerut Ratan Award (2000), Glory of India award (2009), Best Entrepreneur (2013) etc. He was nominated as District Governor for the year 2008-09 of Rotary District and is presently serving as the Vice Chairman of Federation of Association of Management of Unaided Professional Education Institutions of India.
Professor Avinash C. Pandey is the Former Vice Chancellor, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi and was the Former Professor and Founder and Head of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, Former Coordinator- KBCAOS, MNSCOSS, IIDS, University of Allahabad, Principal Investigator- Nanotechnology Application Centre, KBCAOS, MNSCOSS. He has completed his education in MSc (Physics), MS. (Mathematics), MBA (Marketing), D Phil (Magneto-hydrodynamic instability of Inhomogeneous fluid), M Tech (Genetic Algorithm Computer Science and Engineering) and a Diploma in French. His expertise and scientific interests lie in nano-science and nanotechnology, materials science, physics with ION-beams, mathematical modeling, non-linear dynamics, atmospheric and ocean Sciences. Prof. Panday moved to Jhansi in 2012 as the Vice Chancellor of Bundelkhand University. He has published more than 175 research papers in international journals, has 13 patents to his name and 20 book chapters/monograms. Till date he had guided 22 PhD students.
Professor Venerable Geshe Ngwang Samten was born in 1956. He moved to India in 1959 with his parents after the Chinese occupation of Tibet. He completed his early education at Central School for Tibetans in Chandgiri, Orissa and later on earned the title of Shashtri and Acharya at the Central University for Tibetan Studies at Sarnath. Thereafter he joined the Gaden Shartse Mundgod, in Karnataka where he received his monastic education. He received the Geshe Dhorampa and later the Geshe Lharampa, a degree equivalent to PhD in the modern education system. Professor Samten has published a number of books and co-authored and translated many books on philosophy too. Professor Samten lectures students and academicians at both national and international platforms. He was awarded the Padam Shri by the President of India in the year 2008 for his unparalleled publications and his service in the fields of literature and education. He is currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor at the Central University for Tibetan Studies at Sarnath, Varanasi.
Anshu Sahi, M Sc Botany, MEd , B Ed, Retired as the Principal, Army School, Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi. She is presently working as a Consultant with Teachersity, New Delhi, imparting Service Training to Teachers and Principals. As an academician, her major task was to produce with the collaborative assistant of the staff improvement in the curricular, co-curricular performance of the children and improve the discipline and infrastructure of the school. With her efforts, the school scored the best result in 2013 since its inception in 1953. She believed that the challenge for a principal is to work as an integrated team so as the school is perceived by others as not only the number one education provider but also as a provider for holistic development of students. She has a long career in education and school development with curriculum experience in science and specialization in classroom management, integrated value based learning, creative thinking, multiple intelligences and development of life skills to prepare students for the 21st century.
Alok Bajpai, Psychiatry and follower of Gandhian philosophy, Physics, Film, Music, Literature and Teaching are some of the things that occupy him. Dr Bajpai trained in Psychiatry after completing his medical education from NIMHANS, Bangalore. He joined the Regency Hospital in Kanpur as a Senior Consultant after which he moved to Australia as a Consultant in Psychiatry. He has established a unique ‘child and adolescent mental health centre’ in Kanpur and conducts workshops and camps in a number of cities in India to spread awareness about childhood problems and diseases. His “No Kidding” workshop gained a lot of popularity in Chennai. He is also a consultant psychiatrist to the students of IIT Kanpur. Apart from this, he is a regular columnist who writes about issues related to psychiatry and sexuality. Cinema is also a field where Dr Bajpai has left his mark. After completing a short film course at FTII, Pune and a script writing & film appreciation course in Perth, Australia, he started “The Auter”, a modular workshop developed for an introduction to cinema at the school and college level. He regularly anchors a Multimedia Interactive Programme called “An hour with the Mahatma” for schools and colleges to help students understand more about Gandhian Literature and Philosophy. His workshops ‘What Krishna meant’ and ‘Human Investment-Mahabharata Lessons’, based on Gita became very popular among the people. An informal group call Chaupal is also run where art and music lovers brainstorm on various literature and art fields.
Prof (Dr) Ashish Agarwal, D Litt, PhD, MBA, M Com, FCA, NET, DISA, LLB, was born on 16th January, 1961. A man from commerce background, he has been training and sculpting the students for the Chartered Accountancy. Besides his 26 years of academic contributions he has received distinct appreciations from many professional bodies like ICAI, ITBA etc. In his quest to spread knowledge, he has insisted his colleagues and students to go the extra mile and lighten the way, not only for oneself but for others alike.
Deepti Gulati is a social activist engaged in numerous activities since 1993. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Arts with English, Anthropology and Economics in 1982 from Awadh Girls Degree College, Lucknow and then pursued Diploma in Travel and Tourism, from IT College Lucknow followed by Diploma in Computer Application. Currently she is serving as the Secretary of the U.P. Science Centre, District and Regional Coordinator for National Children’s Science Congress, Secretary Science Centre Jhansi and Coordinator for Art of Living Bureau of Communications for Western U.P. She has also been on board of Governors of NCSTC- Network-, Core Group Member of Sujan Samooh – a volunteer organization formed for the clean green and encroachment free Jhansi, Coordinator of SPIC MACAY, Coordinator and Financial Facilitator Art of Living, Jhansi, Project coordinator for Hunger project for Integrated Family Planning Services (IFPS), along with being involved in many other social welfare activities for women, children and the poor. She has dedicated herself to the development of the society spiritually, scientifically and socially.
Ravi Bakshi is a life member of Kalayanam Karti and the treasurer of Antrarastrya Bharat Tibet Sayhog Samiti, Meerut. He graduated from Lucknow University in 1978.
Ms Asheema Singh is working as a consultant with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and is currently posted with National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) as Project Coordinator, Adolescence Education Programme. An educationist who is committed to empower young people by enhancing their skills of problem solving and decision making she is known for introducing many innovative Programs like ‘Face to Face with a Scientist’ and taking ‘Gyan Jathas’ to the schools spread in far flung areas of India and setting up of toll free IVRS system as a powerful learner support at NIOS. She is currently engaged with developing life skills enriched study materials and tutor training programmes at NIOS. She is also highlighting issues such as adolescent rights, gender, sexual abuse, adolescent nutrition, substance abuse etc and evolving innovative methods of empowering youth to effectively deal with them. As a Life Skills Expert she has conducted numerous skill building workshops for teachers, counselors and lesson writers. She has published numerous papers in national and international journals.
Ms Premlata Mullick has been working as an educationist for the past five decades. She has worked in different schools as teacher, supervisor, coordinator and Principal. Presently she is serving as the Director of Sushila Devi Polytechnic for Women, Ghaziabad. Home Science, Child Development, Teacher Education and Vocational Education are her areas of strength. She has authored 5 books of Home Science along with a number of children’s books. She has so far organized over 400 workshops for teachers and students of various schools and colleges. She was the trainer of the workers and also the evaluator of the success of the ‘AANCHDAL’ project of ‘CARE’. This was an early education project for children of BHOJPUR BLOCK in 2002 undertaken by CARE. She was conferred with ‘Meerut Ratna’ in 2002 by the intellectual’s society of Meerut, ‘The Woman of Substance’ award by Hindustan Times in 2011 and outstanding teacher of the year in 1990 by Rotary Club Meerut Cantt. She is also working with a NGO – ‘We Commit’, set up by the ex teachers of Kendriya Vidhalayas of Meerut to promote education in Meerut District Jail.
Ms Nita Modi – She completed her BSc from Lady Irwin College, and is currently pursuing MSc in counseling and family therapy from IGNOU. She is volunteering as a manager in Lions Bal Vidya Mandir in Meerut. She ran a chapter of SPIC MACAY, for over ten years and also started an NGO ‘Savera’ to provide vocational training to youth of the underprivileged sections of the society where she trained around 150 girls in embroidery and around 200 boys and girls in cookery. The training has helped these students in securing decent jobs as designers and chefs. As a social worker, she constantly keeps on striving to do her bit for the betterment of the society.
Ms Leena Kapoor Bhatia- She received a degree in masters in community resource management and extension and BEd from Lady Irwin College, Delhi. She has a rich experience of two decades in handling students in various capacities such as PGT for teaching science, social science and home science in three different schools of Uttar Pradesh. She is also engaged in life skill teaching and training in school. Beside academic duties, she has undertaken duties such as admissions, examination duties, school based activity management and other administrative duties. As a team member she has contributed in arranging different state and district level programmes such as panchayati raj seminar in Delhi. She has gained seven years experience of serving under privileged and disadvantaged community members while working on community based projects in the settlements of Delhi, executed by NIUA in collaboration with UNICEF, AUSAID and CARE. She is trained as money smart teacher by NISM and is under training for developing core skills among students by British council. She was honored with several scholarships and other certificates at the school as well as at university level as a student and has been awarded by British council for coordinating school based projects.
Ms Tripti Rai is a lawyer and media person by qualification and an educationist by passion. She has done her BALLB from National Institute of Law University, Bhopal PG Diploma in TV Journalism from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi in 2005 where she was awarded a 100% scholarship by Star News that included campus placement in Star News, Mumbai. Her introduction to the field of education was while working with National Institute of Open Schooling, Delhi and has gained experience as a life skills trainer on various projects that included curriculum development, capacity building workshops for lesson writers and teachers, development of question paper etc. As the founder of her own organization ‘Open Doors’, she seeks to approach the education system with a fresh perspective to make a difference. She conducts numerous skill building workshops for students, teachers, counselors and other stake holders.
Mr Amitabh Tandon- He is a technologist turned educationist with over 13 years of experience in companies such as Microsoft and Honeywell where he was responsible for teams, building cutting edge technology in domains ranging from aerospace, security and communications. As part of these teams, Amitabh has build products such as Microsoft office for mobile, Microsoft Lync and has created patented frameworks for Honeywell in areas of aerospace and security. Presently he is running his own organization, ‘Wisemoo Labs’, an edtech startup that is helping children, teachers, parents and schools to enable them for the key skills required for 21st century such as research, analysis, visualization, reasoning, emotional intelligence and ethical decision making. He also consults with various schools to enable them to become ‘Thinking Schools’. As part of Wisemoo Labs, Amitabh is currently building activity kits and centers under the brand name of Philosophers Lab where children can be taught to be curious, critical, creative, caring and collaborative thinkers.
Mr DK Sharma- A retired chief manager from SBI, he completed his MSc in Mathematics and Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). He is currently engaged as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist in Yog Vigyan Sanstha, Delhi. He also helps young underprivileged minds to realize their dreams by providing coaching to the students appearing for the bank examinations and other competitive exams.
Ms Usha Pillai - She retired as a Principal from Kendriya Vidyalaya, and have a teaching experience of over 30 years. She joined the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan in 1978 as a PGT (Biology) and worked in different parts of the country till 2002. Thereafter she was promoted as a principal, a post she held till her superannuation in 2012. During her tenure, she also played the role of District Commissioner in Scout & Guide movement and conducted a number of camps for training teachers in preparing students for Rashtrapati Puraskar, Rajya Puraskar and other Scout & Guide related activities. During her tenure in KVS, she was given the charge to impart in-service training to TGT (Science) and primary teachers. She was also associated with multiple collaborative projects between KV and international foundations. From KV side, she supervised “Face to Faith” project with Tony Blair foundation and ‘Connecting Classroom’ & ‘PEC’ projects with the British Council. Further she has had associations with projects like ‘Improving Practicals’ for senior secondary, adolescence education, population education, life-skill education organised by CBSE, NCERT and KVS. Prior to joining Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, she had a brief stint in research by working as a junior science fellow for two and a half years in the micro-biology department of AIIMS.
Mr Arindam Ghosh- He completed his schooling from Delhi and graduation in Science from Jhansi, followed by post graduation in Management from Bundelkhand University. He has also done a post graduation certificate course in Journalism and Mass Communication from IGNOU. After a brief stint in corporate world, he returned to Jhansi to join his father in expanding the educational institution that he had started in a humble manner for the deprived children of the congested city area of the city with an aim to provide quality education which they can afford. Later on he also picked up journalism and has been working with the Times of India for past seven years. He writes articles for Jhansi supplement raising local social issues. He is also writing for the main issue of TOI as the principle correspondent covering crime and politics in Bundelkhand region.
Dr Paramjeet Rawat – She completed her PhD in computer science from Singhania University, Rajasthan. She completed MTech and MCA. She is a senior member of International Association of Computer Science and is presently working as a reviewer in a number of international journals namely Elsevier, Inderscience, Ijais- USA , Ijarcsee and Tijcsa. More than 20 of her research papers have been published in reputed journals like IEEE Xplore and Springer LNCS (CCIS).
Deeksha Gulati- is a lawyer with a BSL.LLB and LLM from Pune University, with extensive experience in research, advocacy and training on women rights. She has also been a part of writing resource books and producing posters on laws related to women and children that have been widely disseminated across India. She has written and presently papers on social issues at international and national forums. Presently she is working as a consultant in AyurGyan Nyas.

Pritom Saikia- is a researcher who has conducted research on labour in the unorganised sector of India. He has completed his M.A. in Labour Studies and Social Protection from Tata Institute of Social Sciences and has a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Guwahati University, Assam. He is currently working as a Research Analyst in Ayur Gyan Nyas.
Rashmi Shetty - finished her Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Journalism, and English Major, after which she pursued a PG Diploma in Liberal Studies as a Young India Fellow at the Ashoka University. She has completed a one-year programme at Nalanda University in Buddhist Studies, Philosophy and Comparative Religions. Rashmi has worked extensively in the areas of education, psychology and conflict resolution and livelihood, with governmental and non-governmental organizations. Rashmi has previously been involved in the development of curriculums on socio-emotional learning module for middle schoolers. She is also formally trained in Basic Counselling and Transactional Analysis, as well as public speaking.
